Mark Lawrenson states his prediction for Arsenal v Watford

Arsene Wenger has no interest in talking about Troy Deeney ahead of Arsenal's match against Watford on Sunday. It was important that we stuck together tonight.

Mark Lawrenson is backing Arsenal to ease to a resounding win against Watford at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon. Arsène Wenger's players might want to prove a point to him but, really, the oomph has been knocked from their Premier League season.

Arsenal have lost 10 league games this season.

Arsenal will need to hold firm next week when AC Milan travel to the Emirates in the second leg of the competition, with a draw or victory over the Rossoneri guaranteeing them a place in the Europa League quarter-finals.

Arsenal are 13 points adrift of the top four as their search for an immediate return to the Champions League has faltered massively in recent weeks.

They will be without injured Alexandre Lacazette and Hector Bellerin against Watford while Sead Kolasinac is a doubt with an ankle problem.

Wilshere himself seemed to thrive in a more advanced role and the Englishman has sent a rallying cry to his teammates ahead of the Watford game. Cathcart, Chalobah, Deulofeu, Hoban, Holebas, Kabasele, Kaboul, Sinclair, Cleverley and Wagué, all feature on that list. Having won the reverse fixture at the Vitality stadium, thanks to an injury-time victor from Tom Cleverley, it is not hard to imagine the visitors to be feeling quietly confident to upset the apple cart. Other than that there is nothing new to add to the Watford squad.

Gennaro Gattuso and Arsene Wenger

Watford were 3-1 winners against Wenger's men at Vicarage Road in the Premier League back in November.

He has returned to being a first-team regular after been limited to Europa League action earlier in the campaign.

The striker's future looked bleak under former boss Marco Silva, but three goals in four games have reiterated his importance.

"I liked the attitude of my players after the loss against Arsenal". Arsene Wenger has hit back and it would be interesting to see if the obviously hostile reception that Deeney would get at the Emirates has an effect on the player as he is one of the key men in the side - who also scored their most recent victor against West Brom to claim all three points.

Arsenal, this season, have won all their nine games against teams outside the top six at the Emirates.
