With Valve's new expertise in software and hardware development, it will be interesting to see how the company plans to take a leaf out of Nintendo's book, hopefully, the wait won't be too long.

No, there was no news on Half-Life 3, but if Valve comes back to software development and publishing, there's still a sliver of hope left.

The announcement came as part of a presentation for Artifact, the "Dota 2" themed card game that drew fan ire previous year when it was announced because it had the gall to not be "Half Life 3".

Going by Newell's statement, it seems that Valve is really focused on bringing something new to PC gaming instead of simply hashing out the same experiences everyone's been having before.

Newell says that the studio now has three big VR titles, though we don't know anything about them now.

Timberwolves Signing G Derrick Rose
And who knows, maybe it would even include a first-round series win? "The only thing I'm missing now is the opportunity". Rose appeared in only 16 games this season, and spent time away from the Cavs for personal reasons.

Cities Brace For Power Outages As Another Nor'easter Hits US
In Pennsylvania , Philadelphia was forecast to get between 6 to 8 inches Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service . Thundersnow - when thunder and lightning occur during a snowstorm - was even reported in New York City, New Jersey and CT .

Is this a good news?

This was spurred because, "We've always been a little bit jealous of companies like Nintendo", as Newell puts it.

The game is launching this year, Keighley said, while adding that a tablet release is slated for 2019. Newell also didn't say anything about any new shooters, so we likely won't be dealing with anything related to Half Life at any point in the future. As such, Artifact will differ from most other traditional collectible card games, mainly because it will feature three "lanes" guarded by a tower at the end. It's not clear if this latest announcement is related to those earlier titles, but either way, it's good to know that Valve is back in the game making business proper.

An important thing to note is the importance of Artifact not being thought of as a Dota game, but a game that uses Dota as a base simply because of convenience. When Miyamoto is sitting down thinking about the next version of Zelda or Mario, he's thinking what is the controller going to look like, what sort of graphics and other capabilities [will the platform have]. "That's something we've been jealous of, and that's something you'll see us taking advantage of subsequently".
