Although the event began in the United States, Record Store Day has official worldwide organizers in the United Kingdom, Italy, Australia, Ireland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Mexico, Japan and Spain. The records are allocated by distributors to stores around the country. You may have to stand in a few lines tomorrow, and elbow through a bunch of hipsters to get what you want, but it should all be worth it in the end.

This Record Store Day, East Nashville's neighborhood record shop, The Groove, is teaming up with ACME Radio to provide live performances and food trucks throughout the day in the stores "backyard". The day is going to be packed with specials, events and giveaways, with a secret special guest to be announced the day of. That tradition stuck, and in the years since, artists like Ozzy Osbourne and Iggy Pop have been record store day ambassadors. Saturday, all $1 records are 25 cents and $5 records are $2.50.

"It started as a group of independent record store owners who got together with this idea to help celebrate the record stores". Wax Trax will be carrying as many vinyl releases as it can cram on the shelves.

RSD is always full of special releases, and this year is no different.

The bar is open until midnight today, with live music and records on sale until the bar closes.
