Mixed martial arts fighter Conor McGregor was driven to a New York City courtroom on Friday to be arraigned on charges of assault stemming from a melee following a press event for a series of UFC fights to be staged at a Brooklyn arena. White states McGregor apologized to him about fighters like Michael Chiesa, who was removed from the UFC 223 card due to lacerations from the attack, but it had to be done.

Conor McGregor was released from custody and is most likely getting ready to fly back to Ireland after appearing in court where he was arraigned on charges stemming from the UFC bus attack.

Conor McGregor has been released on bail of $50,000 by a NY court.

McGregor, who reportedly surrendered to Brooklyn police late Thursday, was escorted out of the police station in handcuffs, dressed in jeans, white sneakers and a tight-fitting blue top, before being driven off in the back of a sedan for court. Video from TMZ Sports shows someone picking up a two-wheeled dolly and throwing it into a bus window, smashing the glass.

The altercation never got physical, but Nurmagomedov could be seen putting his hands on Lobov's face, as you can see in the video above.

The incident comes after White stripped McGregor of his lightweight title because of inactivity.

The ugly scenes were condemned by UFC president Dana White, who labelled them "one of the most disgusting things that's happened in the history of the company". He appeared to be trying to get main event fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov off the bus after an incident involving Nurmagomedov and McGregor teammate Artem Lobov earlier in the week.

"I want to fight Georges St-Pierre in New York", Nurmagomedov said.

Prince Charles puts a lid on lavatory seat rumour

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane makes huge Barcelona revelation
There have only been three previous occasions in which a guard of honour has been presented in meetings between Real Madrid and Barcelona.

The police have charged McGregor with three counts of assault over the incident.

"No ... no", White said.

"This is way bigger than 'are you going to fire the guy?' This is criminal", he said.

McGregor is not an American citizen and thus could be denied future entry into the country if convicted.

McGregor (21-3) last fought for UFC in November 2016, when he won the lightweight (155-pound) championship, according to Bleacher Report.

In February, McGregor said he had offered to fight at UFC 222 but was denied.

He previously told Reuters he made an eye-watering US$140 million from last August's boxing match with Floyd Mayweather but has not fought in the Octagon since the win over Alvarez.
