OnePlus says they wanted the new color to have a clear quality similar to amber, but to also have "an enduring appeal that will last for years to come". Now, the OnePlus 6 Red's release date is official: the new variant will be available globally from July 10 in the U.S. and July 16th in India.

As for other markets, North America and Europe will get the model starting July 10 for $579. But if you've been holding out for this color-the OnePlus 6 has been available in Silk White, Mirror Black, and Midnight Black since its launch-I'd move quickly just in case. This year, the company takes it a bit easy on nomenclature, as it's chosen to dub the the device as simply OnePlus 6 Red, which clearly doesn't have the same feel as "Lava Red". It will be priced the same as the regular 8GB RAM/128GB OnePlus 6 variant.

Lau also said that the handset required the use of a new film coating process that has never been used on a smartphone before.

In all other respects, the OnePlus 6 Red offers the same specs as its stablemates. The device comes with a 6.28-inch AMOLED display with the notch on the top.

LeBron doesn't have plans to meet with Cavs
And ESPN is reporting the Cleveland Cavaliers won't meet in person with LeBron James or his representatives once it does. It is important to note the lineup is likely to look different as the off-season progresses, even if James comes to L.A.

On the rear of the phone, you'll find a new dual-lens camera which has plenty of tricks up its sleeve including the ability to add DSLR-style depth of field to photos and a 2X optical zoom.

The OnePlus 6 Red is described by company CEO Pete Lau as a "true representation of our values regarding product and industrial design", with a shade of red that's "passionate but with a level of visual restraint", as well as not too bright and therefore "visually burdensome". OnePlus evaluated "hundreds of colors", choosing a color that stood out among the rest to make the OnePlus 6 Red. The handset includes 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of inbuilt storage.
