In a bid that has been labelled "disrespectful" and "pathetic" by fans, Manchester United have unsurprisingly rejected an offer for World Cup winning midfielder, Paul Pogba.

The 25-year-old, who lit up the World Cup finals in Russian Federation, has often flattered to deceive since returning to United from Juventus two years ago.

Paul Pogba signed for United for a then-record transfer fee of €105 million in 2016.

The Red Devils paid big money to snare Pogba away from Italian champions Juventus two years ago, but he has been subject to criticism at Old Trafford, while there are also question marks over his relationship with Jose Mourinho.

Pogba was inconsistent last season and was even dropped by the United boss for a spell in the second half of the season.

The Portuguese harshly criticised some of the younger players on tour with his team in the United States, while he has also warned the board over their lack of activity in the transfer window.

"The players are in a closed camp, isolated from the external world, from commercial compromises, and every possible influence".

But this isn't the first time the 25-year-old's future at Old Trafford has been in doubt.

Barca coach Ernesto Valverde refused to deny his club were interested in signing Pogba over the weekend, as he offered this answer to when quizzed about the midfielder.

The deal could hinge on Marcos Rojo leaving United and he has yet to be convinced that a move to Everton is the best option for him.
