Until midnight Sunday, many items of apparel, along with school supplies, computers and related equipment, can be purchased without paying the state and local sales tax.
The other two holidays that will be discontinued from the state sales tax exemptions are are the Second Amendment Sales Tax Holiday Sept. 7-9 and the Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday on the last weekend of May. During those three days, shoppers will not have to pay sales taxes on clothes costing less than $75 per item and school supplies costing $20 per item.
