Earl Thomas' absence could prove to be one of the more detrimental losses for Seattle this offseason.
Seattle Seahawks free safety Earl Thomas plans to report to team headquarters, ending his extended holdout. Per Schefter, they offered to send a second-round pick to Seattle. With that being said, the disrespect has been well noted and will not be forgotten.
With Thomas saying a few times that he won't return to the Seahawks without a contract extension and a lack of signs that a contract extension is something the team is interested in extending his way, no end to the Thomas saga appears to be in sight.
But in an Instagram post Wednesday, Thomas said he wouldn't let the Seahawks down by continuing to hold out into the regular season. But the source stressed the team is comfortable enough with what's in place at the moment that it won't offer Seattle more than a second-round pick for the 29-year-old safety.
NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport said Wednesday that Thomas will play out the final year of his deal in Seattle and that the Seahawks agreed to wipe out nearly all of his fines for not showing up to training camp. Caught in the midst of Thomas' return to practice was the rumor the Dallas Cowboys upped their offer to a second-round pick in exchange for the Pro Bowl safety.

Thomas will apparently avoid becoming the first Seahawk since Kam Chancellor in 2015 to miss games due to a holdout.
With Thomas now reporting to camp, a potential trade could be dormant.
Thomas played for 14 games (all starts) for the Seahawks last season and recorded two interceptions and a touchdown to go with 88 total tackles.
At this point the relationship between Thomas and the only National Football League team he's known, the Seahawks, Schneider and coach Pete Carroll who drafted him in the first round in 2010, seems irreparable.
