In an update on Thursday, September 13, 2018, the Met Office said the centre of Tropical Storm Isaac passed through the northern Lesser Antilles at approximately 9:00 am Thursday and was passing over the eastern Caribbean Sea.

This general motion is expected to continue through the next few days.

A smaller hurricane dubbed Isaac is reportedly heading for the Caribbean, while Hurricane Helene - now also in the Atlantic - is forecast to track towards the UK. Maximum sustained winds Friday morning were near 35 miles per hour with higher gusts.

A National Weather Service satellite monitoring Hurricane Florence has recorded a wave reaching 83 feet in the storm churning in the Atlantic Ocean.

As of 2 p.m., the slow-moving storm barely had Category 1 hurricane strength and was nearly at a standstill over southeastern North Carolina, according to the Associated Press.
