The 29-year-old Indian captain slammed records on Wednesday during the second ODI against the Windies in Vishakhapatnam as he entered the 10,000 runs club in the 50-overs format. Tendulkar had taken 259 innings to reach the feat. He bettered his own record of 1000 runs in a year in 15 matches set in 2012 and Hashim amla's record in same number of matches in 2010. The Bangladeshi veteran Mushfiqur Rahim wasn't the one to miss out on the occasion either, taking to Twitter to write, "Congratulations to one and only sir virat kohli for reaching 10k runs in the blink of an eye".

Virat Kohli swears by the word "team" and feels it is an honour to represent the country. Earlier this year during the ODI leg of the South African tour, Kohli became the fastest to reach the 9000 ODI runs too. With this, Kohli also becomes the fourth Indian and thirteenth batsman to globally achieve the milestone.

At 40 for two in the ninth over, Rayudu joined his skipper and the two played fluently to keep the run rate healthy. "Kohli is an example for every cricketer". India lost their two openers rather quickly, but in walked Kohli and nearly as if everything was bound to fall into place, he took charge of proceedings.

No decision on Martinez in Red Sox lineup; Betts not at 2B
The Red Sox fell to the Dodgers, 3-2, in Game 3, a 7-hour-20-minute game, the longest in postseason history. So what about the Red Sox's Game 4 starter? When Muncy saw Nunez in the seats he tagged and went to second.

The India captain has dominated with the bat in ODIs in recent years. Kohli stated that he just wanted to play for India. He is now the world's No.1 batsman in both the Test and one-day formats.

It is worth mentioning that Kohli and MS Dhoni are the only players in the list still playing worldwide cricket. Apart from Kohli, Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and MS Dhoni have scored over 10,000 runs in ODIs. The hosts now lead the series 1-0 with the third match due to be played in Pune on October 27.
