What has the investigation found so far?

Turkey's chief prosecutor on Wednesday confirmed for the first time that Khashoggi was strangled as soon as he entered the consulate on October 2 as part of a planned hit, and his body was then dismembered and destroyed.

Saudi Arabia has changed its statement on the events surrounding Khashoggi's disappearance multiple times. It later admitted he had been murdered, saying the killing was premeditated and a result of a "rogue operation". Turkey wants them extradited.

Activists erected a mock street sign on Friday in central London, just outside the gates of Saudi Arabia's embassy in the United Kingdom capital.

They also investigated an abandoned auto belonging to the Saudi consulate in an underground vehicle park in Istanbul.

Saudi Arabia has attracted worldwide opprobrium for its handling of the case.

Pompeo, in an interview with KMOX radio in St. Louis, said President Donald Trump had made it clear Washington would respond to the killing.

"It'll take us probably a handful more weeks before we have enough evidence to actually put those sanctions in place, but I think we'll be able to get there", Pompeo said.
