First Iowa flu death of season reported

The state department of health is tracking the flu this year. By that season's end, the state logged more than 6,400 hospitalizations, along with 435 deaths.

Healthcare workers are also advised to avail of the vaccine in order to protect both themselves and those that they care for.

So far in Minnesota's 2018-19 flu season, there have been 116 hospitalizations and four deaths in total.
